ESG & Sustainability in Bulgaria | 2023 edition

In May 2023, SeeNext will release another ESG study focused on the Bulgarian economy

In our first study, published in 2022, we analysed the risks and opportunities Bulgaria is facing on the road to greater sustainability based on the percentage of national gross added value (GVA) formed by sectors aligned with the EU Taxonomy for sustainable activities. Now, we are expanding this analysis to include the latest updates in climate change mitigation and adaptation activities made by the European Commission. We will also distinguish between enabling and transitional activities for a more precise estimation of the sustainability component of the Bulgarian economy.

The study will also include:

  • a comparison of the Bulgarian economy’s sustainability progress and further potential in a regional context;

  • updates on the regulatory framework at the EU and national level;

  • overview of recent ESG initiatives with a meaningful impact on the country.
